Day 1 & 2
Nairobi
On arrival at the airport, meet your guide. You will be transferred to House of Waine a small, up market house set in the quiet Nairobi suburb of Karen for overnight.
On the second day, visit set off to The Daphne Sheldrick, a focal point for Elephant Conservation. Elephant calves orphaned by poaching are brought here from all over the country. They receive extremely specialized treatment, and literally receive personal care 24 hours a day from highly dedicated staff who becomes surrogate mothers to the calves. Watch the calves as they are exercised and bathed.
Your next stop will be at the AFEW Giraffe Center a center that has been ostensibly set up as a breeding center for the endangered Rothschild Giraffe. After lunch at the Utamaduni restaurant, finish the day visiting Karen Blixen Museum. Here you will get an idea of some of Kenya’s history as you enter the home where the author of out of Africa, Karen Blixen had her farm. It provides an idea of what life in Nairobi was like for the colonial
settlers less than a century ago. Overnight at House of Waine (B).
Day 3 & 4
Amboseli National Park
Early this morning you will be transferred to Amboseli famous for the dramatic views of Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world, and the highest peak on the African continent. Amboseli is also famous for its elephant herds, which have been followed and documented by world-renowned researcher Cynthia Moss.
On arrival at the airfield in a scenic location, your knowledgeable guide will welcome you and immediately start your game-viewing drive. On the way from the airstrip to Satao Elerai Camp you can admire the beautiful scenery and the animals. The camp is located on an escarpment offering a wonderful view over Amboseli Park and Mount Kilimanjaro. After lunch at camp, you visit a typical Masai village and get an insight into the life of this traditional tribe. Overnight at Satao Elerai (B, L, D)
On the second day, you will enjoy a morning game drive in Amboseli National Park. You drive back to your camp for lunch. Afterward, you have time to relax and enjoy the wonderful panoramic view from your camp. This afternoon, you go on a game drive through the conservation area. When the sun starts to go down behind the horizon, you enjoy a bush sun downer. On your way back to the camp, you experience the Kenyan savannah at night – a unique experience.
Day 5,6 & 7
Masai Mara National Reserve
After a leisurely al fresco breakfast, transferred to Masai Mara. Scenically, it epitomizes the Africa of childhood imaginings: the lone Acacia tree against the cobalt sky, rolling plains that positively heave with life, the sluggish curves of the Mara River choc-a-bloc with hippo and crocs and the odd red "shuka" of a Masai herdsman who carry on their normal pace of life, largely oblivious of all the commotion around them.
Spend the days on a game viewing drive with all meals and overnight at Entim Mara Camp (B, L, D)
Day 8
Nairobi – Departure
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Nairobi. From here you will follow through with your post trip plans or take your flight back home (B)
