Saruni Samburu Camp 

OVERVIEW
Perched atop the hills of the 240,000 acre Kalama Community Conservancy, Saruni Samburu is an exciting and pristine wildlife destination in northern Kenya.

With the elegant style and private atmosphere of its six villas, Saruni offers “the feeling of exclusivity, of having an incredibly large area totally to yourself, and a high level of comfort and tailor-made service”.
Its extraordinary views look out over the surrounding rangelands, the mountains of Samburuland all the way until Mount Kenya. Beautifully constructed and designed by Kenyan architect Mark Glen, Saruni Samburu has four large family-style villas and two single villas. Each family villas has two bathrooms, two bedrooms, a large dining and lounge area and private terrace. A communal dining area called Kudu House and two infinity swimming pools also overlook the vast and wild wilderness below, including a waterhole where big game – elephant, giraffe, kudu – come to drink. Meals can be enjoyed in the dining area or “bush dinners” are normally arranged where guest have dinner under the stars of a very special location called “Lion’s Rock” or in the middle of a dry river bed.

ACCOMMODATION
There are four houses (two of them are large family villas with two separate bedrooms each and two spectacular bahrooms), a large swimming pool with dramatic view over Samburuland, a waterhole that attract elephant, reticulated giraffe, zebra, oryx and all the species that make Kalama so special.

ACTIVITIES
Activities include day and night game drives, professionally-led game walks, and visits to nearby caves where guests can see traditional Samburu rock art. The safaris are done mostly inside three conservancies: Kalama, Samburu National Reserve and Buffalo Springs National Reserve. Some of the rare species are regularly found in Kalama and in the nearby game reserves: cheetah, lion, leopard (a regular visitor to Saruni!), wild dog, striped hyena and of course the Samburu Five: reticulated giraffe, Grevy zebra, Somali ostrich, gerenuk and Beisa oryx. Other activities include massages and treatments at the Samburu Wellbeing Space, where the traditional local knowledge of plants and leaves is combined with the latest Western techniques.

Intrepids Camp

OVERVIEW
Samburu Intrepids is a lush oasis on the banks of the great Uaso Nyiro River in Samburu Game Reserve. The tented lodge is a delight to be in – deliciously cooled by the river breeze and the forest. The luxury tented camp sits on raised decks overlooking the brown river where the elephants sometimes make an appearance or the crocodiles come out to lounge by the river’s banks.

ACCOMMODATION
The 28 luxury tents are widely spread across a large riverside site to ensure guests the optimum of privacy and peace. Each tent is furnished in the classic style of the grand African safaris, with large four-poster beds and handsome reproduction furniture, offset by modern en suite bathrooms with hot showers, flush toilets and all modern amenities.

    Saasab Lodge 

    OVERVIEW
    Sasaab Lodge is one of the most stylish and luxurious game lodges in Northern Kenya. Overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro river in the heart of Samburu land, the lodge is comprised of nine individually detached rooms with huge thatched roofs and canvas sides with sensational views down the river and over the bush and beyond. Each room is uniquely styled with its own private pool and open veranda. Attention to detail is evident throughout the lodge, from the personal service and the food through to the elegant interiors and design - which is contemporary North African in style.

    ACCOMMODATION
    The nine distinctive rooms have Egyptian cotton sheets on the four poster beds and invigorating showers in the spacious bathrooms. Each room is over one hundred square meters in size and extends out to the verandah and private plunge pool with views overlooking the river and wildlife below.

    Elephant Watch Camp

    OVERVIEW
    This unique camp in Samburu National Reserve is perched on the sandy banks of the Ewaso Ngiro River beneath spreading acacia trees. It is home to some of the largest bull elephants in Africa, which are often spotted mudding in the river, resting in the shade or picking pods from trees beside the tents. An eco-camp in every sense of the word, Elephant Watch epitomizes harmony with its natural surroundings.

    ACCOMMODATION
    Elephant Watch Camp offers six spacious, netted tents are especially designed to catch the breeze and to ensure maximum privacy and protection. Each tent hangs under a wide thatched roof with it's own verandah and stunning view.

    Inside, soft flowing cloths cascade to the floor that can be drawn across the windows at night. Each room has a king-size bed with crisp cotton sheets, side tables, books, bedside lamps that run on solar, crisp clean towels, a kanga bath robe (designed by Oria) and a “bush cupboard” with hand painted hangars. The bathroom is en-suite but under the stars. Clothes are hand washed, pressed to perfection with a hot-coal iron, and returned the same day.

    WILDLIFE VIEWING AND ACTIVITIES
    Elephant watching begins on arrival. On your game drive from the airfield to camp the guides will introduce you to many of the well-known elephant families. Observing the gentle elephants as they slowly approach is an awe-inspiring experience. From your vehicle you will be surrounded by their sounds, smells and warm breath. Elephants can come very close -- you do not need to fear them -- but follow your guide’s directions and keep the proper distance. Other inhabitants include reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Beisa oryx and more than 350 resident birds with an additional 70 migrant species, enjoyed most fully on birding walks. You may also spy lion, cheetah or a leopard in a tree. At night, lions roar and hyenas howl, owls hoot and baboons bark under the black sky with a million stars. As the sun rises, a treetop chorus of birds and monkeys beckons you to a new day in the wild.

    Larsens Camp

    OVERVIEW
    Larsens Camp is a small exclusive camp nestled in the lush lawns on the banks of the Uaso Nyiro, a river in Kenya's famous Samburu National Reserve. Designed in contemporary safari style, luxury is blended with the stunning surroundings of the spectacular Samburu Game Reserve. At Larsens Camp tranquillity and nature embrace you the minute you enter Larsens with the river being the perfect stage for an endless pageant of wildlife - elephants rolling and trumpeting in the shallows, timid impala nervously drinking, baboons and vervet monkeys swinging through the canopy of trees.

    ACCOMMODATION
    Larsens offers 20 free standing luxury tents discreetly sited along the west bank of the Uaso Nyiro River. Each tent stands on a plinth of natural stone and all have a private balcony, 1 King-size or 2 Twin beds, electricity and en suite private bathrooms with flushing toilets and constant hot water.

    The 10 chic canvas bedrooms have breathtaking views of the surrounding hills. The camp overlooks a large natural spring where elephant and lion jostle for watering rights with herds of buffalo and the rare desert species of Beisa Oryx, reticulated giraffe and Grevy’s zebra.

    Each sumptuous tent is uniquely decorated with Boran/Somali cloth design, handmade glass and the

    Elephant Bedroom Camp

    OVERVIEW
    Set on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River in the renowned Samburu Game Reserve, surrounded by palms and other beautiful indigenous trees lies this small and intimate tented camp with simplistic elegance, luxury and style.

    Elephant Bedroom Camp promises an astonishing safari experience as the name of the camp couldn’t be more fitting. At night elephants, buffalos and hippos roam through the camp in search for food and water and hearing them from the warmth of your duvet covered bed is a truly exciting and memorable experience.

    Inspired by the textures and colours of African nature, each of the 12 beautifully appointed tents surround you with luxury.
